Default Just thought I'd introduce myself.
Hi, all. I'm new around here and am a huge fan of the Japanese sword arts. I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and a collector of Japanese Iaito. Needless to say, I don't have a particularly large collection, but I'm workin' on that. Sadly enough, there are no Iaido, Kendo OR Kenjutsu schools here, in Corpus. I have a little experience in these arts, practicing the movements, etc. Most of it I've learned purely through a LITTLE bit of training (not nearly enough, though) and some observation. But in order to do the arts any justice and in order to be respectful, I'm gonna get back into a dojo and get to learnin'. I plan on moving to Houston and I hear there's a couple of schools there, so I'm gonna look into that as soon as I get out of school. Well, I'm gone for now,
The Dude.

"Dude",

Semper Fi, mac. Welcome to the world. Good luck with your search. There is a Texas-sized helping of Kendo to be had in The Lone Start State. If you haven't already, check out www.kendo-usa.org It's a good enough place to start searching for quailfied instruction.

heyo.
aye. look for a really really good dojo before moving, else you'll just have to move again.
might be worthwhile going to look and train at clubs first in order to find one you like.
good luck
