Default New York/North Carolina Budo Fun
Guys and girls,

I expect to find myself in NY & NC for a few days in late summer. Any budo-related fun to be had in these areas? It'd be nice to visit a dojo or two (providing I can sneak away from the mrs for a few hours!).

All the best...

Well, you've got a couple good kendojos there. The New York City Kendo Club, Kato-sensei's dojo and you've got the Triangle Kendo and Iaido Club in Raleigh.

I daren't take my bogu on holiday (the mrs would have a fit) - I was thinking more along the lines of koryu dojo to visit but not participate in...

I am aware of the Skoss' dojo in NY, but don't know any others.

Scott,

The NYC Kendo Club is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Kataoka- sensei, Noburo Kataoka, heads the club, which is located in the 5th floor gym of a church on the East Side of Manhattan. I'm sure you would be most welcome. They're on the web, www.nyckendo.com
Cheers!

Last I saw, Carl Long was located in Kingston, PA.

Only MJER guy in NC, that I know of, is Greg Huff.
