Never used airsoft guns before. Me and my cousins used to use slingshots with big rocks and we would play in my grandfathers orchard. The game was whomever could stay on top of the wind-tower longest won. It was fun but I still have scars from the stitches. I have a pretty nice one right on the edge of my hairline.

I find airsoft interesting and looks like fun, but all my money's been going into kendo. I only have a couple of springers and a mini.

Yeah its pretty cool, theres a good site in Glasgow

I do not like the laws in the US with regards to real guns like handguns etc. All you hear is gun crime plastered about the place so i'd rather have our law in Scotland. But airsoft is allowed here. The reason i dont fancy living there is that my bf has a real AK47 for hunting. I mean that is not tollerated in the UK at all. Whats going on with the world?

I'll get myself a nice AK47 (not the real version)

In Japan airsoft in great for guns from movies. When I first came to Japan I bought and exact working airsoft replica of Robocop's gun. It's freaking awsome. Gas powered blowback, semi and full auto. Operates just like I real gun, heavy too. Still the coolest thing I've bought in Japan.

I've also seen Dante's Ebony and ivory from Devil May Cry, Veronica's beretta from Resident Evil:Code veronica, Solid Snakes H&K UMP, the gun from Blade runner, the pulse rifle from Aliens, and a few others. If you search you can find almost every famous gun from from most popular sci-fi/action movies.

Im not sure, he uses it sometimes its the civilian version, doesn't look like the AK47 but resembles it.

He has a shotgun too.

I think you can get pretty much anything in the US and use it

Only yahoos hunt with AK-47. I have no problem with owning one but hunting with one is assinie.

I don't think gun ownership has anything to do with crime. It's like saying soap ownership leads to regular bathing and we know that is not true.

Actually most of the crimes committed with handguns are with unregistered users and unregistered guns. I really don't like the law on guns right now in California in that respect. They tell you that there are bans on assault weapons, but problem is, there are new ones made designed frequently which are in a grey area between specifications put on the ban. My friend uses an AR-15 to go to shooting competitions around California and I heard that gun might be banned since it is in that grey area.

According to Scotland Yard, the incidence of crime with edged or pointed weapons is steadily increasing every year and is dangerously high. When factoring in population it is probably as high if not higher than gun crime in USA.

Maybe there is something to this ban, at least in Scotland.

But the thing is.. If you have a "no handgun" policy and it worked ideally, you shouldn't have any handgun crime. The slayings of those children at the school yard in GB a while back convinced me that a "no handgun policy" wouldn't be the solution to all problems. If crooks want a gun, they'll find one. If they don't have access to guns at all, they find something else. (swords, knives, bats, nails, etc)

Plus news about crime with guns gets more attention. It's sensationalism. Most crimes with guns are commited with stolen or smuggled in guns. Not responsible gun owners who legally obtain their firearms.

Yes but America is rife with gun crime. You hear about it all the time. Scotland is alot safer, hand guns are banned, you hear of no crime like that now.

The point I was trying to make was, if we had an outright handgun ban(or any gun for that matter), then violence (or gun violence for that matter) will not be abolished. It would be less in cities with less crime, but in crime ridden communities like Richmond, CA, Oakland, CA, Watts district of LA, that would probably have an adverse effect and invite more crime. Plus handguns can be smuggled in from anywhere.

And all Scots do is go around wearing kilts, playing bagpipes, and eating hagis. At least that's what I hear. (Tongue planted firmly in cheek.)

Making sweeping generalizations about what you think is going on in another country can get you in trouble. You state "America is rife with gun crime." Does that mean you believe the majority of Americans are victims (or perhaps perpetrators) of gun crimes? As Wes mentioned, the media loves to sensationalize. Their business (and don't kid yourself, the media exists fon one reason and one reason only - to make money) is to sell papers, or airtime (commercials). Juicy stories sell more copy.

I hear the whole UK is rife with sword crimes... they should ban 'em so everyone will be safer.
