I have heard that the japanese team will be decided by the end of august, though I have heard one or two things about who will be in it.

Yeah? I heard they are going to have an import like that Brazillian Alex guy on their football team...apparently, its some evil smelling scotsman living in Osaka.

Well, last month I heard he wasn't cut. Plus he was in the "Final 20" articale in kendo nippon a few months back, and the team is to be decided from them.

The names I heard aren't totally unfamiliar, at least to me, but to people who don't follow more than the most very recent of All Japan Taikai only, they might need some digging and or background.

But I ain't going to mention names just yet.

Korea is still narrowing down the list (one more cut?), and sounds like Japan is doing the same.

The http://www.i-kumdo.com site has videos from a recent tournament in Korea (#145, 146 and 147 under Kumdo Movies), which was sponsorsed by the Korean National Police. FYI - most of the guys in the white uniforms are members of the current Korean National Team, including the winner of the tournament. You need to register as a user at the site before you can view the videos.
