That would be me...LOL...I would to see a kendo game though, i mean kendo not sword play, almost like a practice stimulation.

There is a Musashi no Ken game for the famicom. It is based off the best kendo manga ever! But really it's a children's famicom game and not even worth the $15 (USD) i spent on it

Nobody remembers Budokan for the Sega Genesis?

That was my first ever exposure to Kendo.

The game had its moments, but it was all one on one sparring at a tournament and practice at your dojo. They had Kendo, Karate, Nunchaku, and Bo.

I remember that game. It was awesome. I always played as Kendo. Best skill in the game.

If someone is REALLY serious about making a kendo type of video game, give me some detailed ideas and I will talk to some of the video game producers at work. I work at the game company called Konami here in California and would have often thought about that same idea before. I know the main question the manangers at Konami will ask..."what size of audience will it have?" Let's face it, a kendo game would likely only be played by some kendo players and those only interested in kendo...and maybe some rich-boy-showoffs.... It would not have the same large following as games like Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Dance Dance and the other popular games by Konami....

I think it would be great to have a game based on Kendo but company's often only think about the $ sign when it comes to new games. If I could create one myself....I would call it "McGrady's Kendo Challenge...by Konami". Yeah,...now that's what I'm talking about!!! The main characters would be the Ultimate fighter McGrady, the Invincible T.Lee, and the nearly beatable but not quite FONSZ!!!! Let's not forget the Duke of pain, CRABBI!!!

Let's hear some thoughts!

Alex
You have hit the nail on the head, the game industry is becoming more like the film industry where game companies are only interested in producing that which has the highest return on investment and lets face it, kendo is never going to be the moneymaker.

Sad but true, just be glad there are companies out there that make stuff like katamari.

Red Steel - on the forthcoming Nintendo Wii system.

The console has two motion sensitive controllers that you wave in the air - there are sections where you fight either with just the katana or with the wakizashi and katana.

Check out http://www.redsteelgame.com

Or do a search on YouTube for "Red Steel"

That is all.
