Euclid and MichaelM, props on the most insightful and funniest posts on this thread respectively. Hope your mangina is feeling better.

I think romantic relationships are a complicated thing that can't be explained away by categorizing people as "nice guys" or "bad boys". Heck, someone who's Mother Theresa with one girl might be James Dean with another.

It all goes back to number 49 on Anjin-san's list. You get what you ask for. Now if you ask to be bent over and taken advantage of I'm sure there's any number of girls that would be willing to oblige.

Have you ever heard the song that goes, "if you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife"? I think that's true because if you are with a girl that you believe is your superior than you'll always be the supplicant and will probably get a little jealous and crazy as well. Which doesn't make for the healthiest of relationships.

Now, thanks to you, I will have that song stuck in my head for the next few hours.

Gomen ne.

I forgot to add that actually sometimes it's very simple. If a girl is attracted to you, then she is. If she isn't, then no amount of macho posturing or getting your good shirts wet with her tears is going to change that.

Quite the cynic, aren't we? Money will only get you so far, unless she's a very good actress.

My head is all stuffy and fuzzy from this darn cold. All I can say is that when it comes to matters of love and relationships, Runsyi is the MASTER.

Heed her insights.

I'm nothing compared to you in that department. Woot.

That's why your Myspace friends are all cute girls, and my guy friends say stuff like, "why weren't you all over that guy?" when they see your picture.

I humbly beg to differ. I offer this as proof: During our trip to Japan in March, I didn't make any lasting impressions with the ladies.

However, to this day, I think the sensei at the Butokuden still talk about that hot Hawaii girl (Runsyi) who really "heated up" the room, to the dismay of the other ladies in attendance. Those Tokurensei Riot Police, Kyoto Police and Team Japan guys were all distracted as well when we visited their dojos. No wonder everyone was so nice to us!

Woot, Runsyi, Woot!!!

Hey wait a minute. You see? You said your "guy" friends say stuff. Unfortunately, none of your female friends seem to agree. Hmmm...what does that say about the guys who said that? Yikes!

I rest my case.

MichaelM, Hope your mangina is feeling better.
My mangina is fine, Runsyi. Thanks for asking.
It's still a little tender from an old injury I sustained as team captain of SDHS-NSSA (note 1.a.)

This thread really hit close to home and it seems all the old wounds, mental and physical, are flaring up again.
I'm going to have to fall back on the wise and comforting words of my old friend, Mr. Smalley.

"I am a worthy human being."
"You're should-ing all over yourself."
"That's just stinkin' thinkin!"

...and the old classic
"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me."

Have a nice day.

That doesn't apply to women like you.
You're too good.

Money can't buy you love? That may be so.. but it's rather funny how a lack of it sure does break you up awfully quick.

I am generally a nice guy but due to hanging around with the "wrong" people and going through an alcoholic patch in my life I turned into a bit of an asshole (not a big one, just a little bit of one) and hey suddenly I'm mr popular so IMHO girls don't want someone too nice. I am married now with 2 kids so less of an asshole than I was before but still enough of one not to be a doormat which for some reason women appear to respect.
