Mine is just something that I either picked up online, or came up with myself. I honestly don't remember. Regardless, it's a parody of the classic Spider-Man line, "With great power comes great responsibility." and the fact that you're not really a super hero unless you're wearing multi-colored spandex.

wel i'm a pagan and really into kendo. so i used the description for the "otaku pagan(subbie)" from the field guide to modern paganism off of witchvox
http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.htm...c=wars&id=2099 the full version: Otaku Pagan(subbie): Has and equal amount of Japanese Manga as books on Paganism(sometimes more!). Often dresses up as their latest favorite anime character. Often cannot sit still for more than five minutes without frolicking. Their God is a warrior god named Hitokiri Battousai and their Goddess is Belldandy. Distinguishing Signs: Their ritual garb looks too much like a Shinto robe or a Kimono. Their BOS is written in Japanese They often put Japanese slang in to convey emotions. When they get confused they say "Oro?". Their ritual sword is a Katana or another Japanese sword. They call raising energy raising you ki level. ![]() |

"I'm shit and I know it" = about my ken/iai/jodo abilities...
"...but I do make a wonderful hairline model..." = referring to last year's Eindhoven seminar when Ishido sensei decided to use my hairline (I'm one of the few iaidoka who has hair that isn't receding) to demonstrate the angle of the first cut in morote-zuki and various other forms |

I like my quote because it reminds me to concentrate on the basics. It also says that donīt matter how long you have being training these basics, you will never reach the point you can say "now I know the basics and I can stop training then to concentrate on something else". You can always do it better.
Unfortunately, I donīt know the author, I just heard it from my sensei. I will ask him when I have the chance. |
