Sure. If you have time feel free to bring your bogu and join practice in Bellmont Hall Room 502A on the University of Texas campus. Practice times for non-beginner classes are 2-4 pm Sundays, 7-9 pm Mondays and 8:30-10 pm Thursdays.

We are actually two groups that practice as one. The UT Kendo Association is the student group, and then there's the Austin Kendo Doshikai for alums and others in the Austin community. The practice times, etc. are all the same, the only difference is the dues structure.

Goya,

Is this a university-sponsored club? ..Even if it's not, will there a problem with his being a non-student practicing on university property? (liability issues for injury?..something like that?)

The UTKA is the university club branch of our organization, however as we have both students and non-students practicing, both UTKA and AKD members sign a release form to cover the liability issue. In the case of guests though, we typically have not required them to sign a release and there has never been an issue with this.
