Default SEUSKF tournament THIS WEEKEND 11/18
Well, we're leaving pretty early tomorrow morning and hope to get into town around 9-10pm... alcohol consumption to commence on Saturday night.

Don't think my new zekken (with english on the bottom) will arrive before I leave, so.. I'll have to use the sticky tape method for that.

I'll wager that I've actually met MikeW before, but I'm looking forward to meeting him "again"...
And of course, I'm keeping my eye out for the old jedi fart, Pete... and all the "old" regulars I've run into from tournaments past.

I was planning on wearing my old black dou for the tournament, but I think I'll just wear the gold one (ever-tighter with my growing belly after getting married --- EDIT: uhh... I'm not pregnant.. I don't think).. so, keep and eye out and I hope if you (whoever you are) see me, you'll say HELLO!

Good luck to everybody and BE SAFE TRAVELLING!!

I hope we all represent our dojo and sensei well!!

see you there...

Rgds,
Rogers Gossett

Yoshida sensei will be going to that I think. He joined our big-brother dojo, Battle Creek Kendo Kai about two months ago. He'll be travelling down for that.

Sorry we couldn't make it, Texas and Boston within one month depleted the travel funds.
Good luck to all.

All I can remember is this:

3dan+ division:
1. Imai (TMG, I assume.. since he fought on their team)..
2. Tanaka (GKA)

1.dan-2.dan:
I *think* there were two GKA guys who placed in the top 3 here..
One was Litterbach and the other one I don't remember his name, but he was the GKA team senpo.

Team competition:
1. GKA
2. Triangle A
3. TMG
3. Memphis

I can't remember how the rest of the divisions played out... (Oh, except, I remember that Arai-sensei tied for 3rd in the senior division).

Overall, GKA took a lot of medals. The Sr Youth division was pretty big, as was the 1.dan-2.dan... 3.dan+ division had, I think, more than two dozen players.

It was a good tournament. Our guys said they had a ton of fun at this one.
Congrats to MikeW and Shujei Corey for all their hard work in making this thing happen!
