Yes, that would have been an ingenious Idea, which I wanted to do, but didn't have 600 dollars. If history repeats itself(which it usually does), a person who sells a PS3 on ebay the day it comes out, will probably be getting bids as high as the 5000 dollar range, if not more.

A friend and I at my job had to buy various things for work on Thursday and saw kids camped outside Target/Walmart/etc in the morning. After realizing what they were doing, we went back to work over lunch break and made a fairly convincing "ps3 box". During our afternoon outing we took the box, and whenever passing a geeky Hoovertown, held it subtly in view. Many indignant reactions ensued.

Well it’s not about the PS3 but I think it fits because Sony has pulled the same BS they did with the PS2. Enjoy.

Seems to be settling down now. There are about 15,000 of them on Ebay right now according to my local paper, and a quick search there shows they are selling for around $1000 right now. That seems like a lot fairer market adjustment. Bet they'll settle into $800 or so in a day or two.
