Well, since Kendo does not use a Saya, I imagine this would be an Iaido question, which really isn't combative per say, so that leaves Kenjutsu....
Perhaps it might help if you could clarify your question with more details?

There's no need to block it, who's going to do it to you?

Ahhh, the old pull the sword out really fast and cut the other guy in half attack.
Swordus interruptus it is called.
I think you are in the wrong place, you should be in the cartoon section.

haha hahaha
The trick though is to time your pulling the sword out really fast to cut the other guy in half so that it comes during the space between the haha and the hahaha.

Only if you tell us your name, where you practice and your sensei's name. Otherwise, this is pointless and boring.

I rate this thread 9 stars out of 5. I just had to leave the office for a moment or two in order to f*cking shriek with laughter.

I think I did a little wee in my shorts. I will check later when I also confirm that I haven't laughed my balls off.

Kendo does not stress blocking. If your friend is really worried about getting caught off guard and cut in half, he should just hit the other guy before he comes out of sonkyo.

Ignatz I think you will find that there is some debate about the timing of cuts between the haha and the hahaha.

From the little I know MJER tend to cut just after the second HA in Haha whereas MSR tend to cut just before the first HA in Hahaha.

it is an interesting dynamic which clearly demonstrates the difference between the two sword schools.
