I don't believe that anyone is exactly sure of the exact date of his birth, not even the year, (don't believe everything that you read in Wiki) but it's certainly not Christmas despite the name. Christmas is actually a pagan festival. I'm happy to be corrected on all of this i.e. the exact day of his birth. but when they re-arranged calenders etc, it was easier to slot it in with the pagan festival.
