the shinai's that they are selling look like the kind a beginner at our club bought. The outside of the shinai have been filed flat, taking off the natural lumps and bumps that provide stregth and rigidity.

If thats the case, I would not advise anyone to buy a shinai like that. (they look rubbish close up too

)
