Default Google Sky
If you download the latest version of Google Earth and click on the little blue and yellow icon in the middle of the top toolbar, it'll take you to Google Sky, which uses hi-res photos of the night sky from high powered telescopes, including the Hubble Space Telescope.

Pretty freakin' awesome!

Download the universe here: http://earth.google.com/sky/skyedu.html

I'm gonna waste so much on this...

It's facinating, as it allows you to get the context of where the various objects are. A major productivity impediment, indeed.

Funny, our recent camp the sky cleared and I took the crew out to a field and told them to look up. Many said they had never seen so many stars. I guess that people who live in the cities are missing out on lots of stuff.

Light pollution is another sad part of urban life.

Yeah, it's amazing when you go out of the cities and you can actually see the milky way's boundaries.

But google sky is pretter cool, you can nearly see my home planet!
