JET is a program to bring native english speakers into Japanese classrooms in an effort to upgrade the english language skills of the natives. They are usually greeted with the phrase "boku eigo shiranai", and make almost no headway in their endevors to teach the little blighters english. The pay is good though and everyone ends up having a good time.
I was a JET many many years ago. Like many of my colleauges, I never went home. ALT means assistant language teacher. |
