I'm trying to work out whether to sign up for JET or not. Ask me again in a year's time.

Turned down an offer from Nova - too much in student loans.

JET is a program to bring native english speakers into Japanese classrooms in an effort to upgrade the english language skills of the natives. They are usually greeted with the phrase "boku eigo shiranai", and make almost no headway in their endevors to teach the little blighters english. The pay is good though and everyone ends up having a good time.

I was a JET many many years ago. Like many of my colleauges, I never went home.

ALT means assistant language teacher.

I was a JET until last Wednesday. Three years, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture.

Am home now. Still love Japan. Will be going back, though never permanently.
