Princess Tenko hurt as stunt goes wrong
The Yomiuri Shimbun Magician Tenko Hikita, known as Princess Tenko overseas, was seriously injured during a performance in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, on Sunday and taken to a hospital there, her office's Web site said. According to the Web site, she was struck by 80-centimeter-long fake swords at about 2:30 p.m. that day, when she was hiding in a metal box. The swords should have been thrust into the box from both sides after the magician escaped, but a malfunction occurred and the swords struck her hard. Tenko, however, continued performing for half an hour before being ordered to stop by performance staff who had noticed something was wrong, the sources said. (Jul. 25, 2007) A professional gets hurt with fake swords. I hope the YouTube "I donneed a teacher coz Musashinever 'ad one 'n' BruceLeesaid wedon't" 440 stainles steel backyard samurai take notice. But, somehow, I just don't think that's going to happen in a hurry. |
