You greedy little buggers. Here we are in a record drought and you've got more water than you can handle and you're hogging it! Bleedin' Poms.
You are more than welcome to the excess 10 billion gallons we have here! And that's just the local golf course!

If only it was crude oil... You would be rich and powerful again! (or invaded by the USA).

Funny thing (well actually it's not very funny) is that there are a lot of people (I'm thinking 150'000, but I couldn't tell you where that number comes from) without water due to the flooding...

Well, that's not strictly true. They have lots of water - it's just that it's brown and shitty! I've heard about the same number though.

What I want to know is when are Bono, Geldorf et al going to arrange a concert for the flood victims? They've usually sorted something out by now when it's for another country. Or am I being a trifle cynical?

The UK has much better infrastructures for dealing with these things, compared to places like Pakistan or Indonesia (both places with nastier flooding than the UK). Aid and relief supplies aren't needed in the UK in the same way other countries do. I doubt anyone will die from diarrhoea in England because of the floods, over a million children in Pakistan are at risk of dying from it.
