First a caveat: I do not condone or approve of the IRA bombings in any way.

There is a difference. As a general rule, the IRA notified the government before the bombs were detonated. I think the theory was to limit civilian causualties but to maximize disruption.
Theory, my ass.
They're the same scum, willing to kill innocents for their petty little so-called 'struggles'.

Don't hold back Jacob, tell us how you really feel.

I guess I agree with you to a certain extent though, the religious fundamentalists and the english are pretty much the same, you just can't reason with them.

Me: I don't agree or approve of the IRA bombings.

Scott: Oh yeh? Well they blew up a military band before I was born.

Jacob: The Irish are scum.

The war is over boys.

I've been within a block of both sides bomb attacks, so as far as I'm concerned both the republican & islamist cowards has tried to kill me.

But I forgot..IRA never intended to kill anyone...right...

It wasn't just a band - a large civilian audience was hit too. I remember watching it on the news pretty well, considering I wasn't born.

When could I 'not be reasoned with'...?

So, these backyard ninjers - when do they tend to appear? Do we have a hunting licence? Are there any rules?

The ninjer hunters' ryu is an open one, in other words you can train yourself by watching others type the hell out of a confirmed target without having to go to a dojo, at certain point you start anticipating what the ninjer will post next and be able to even quote what he hasn't posted yet.

It stays pretty dull during sept. to may. If this is your first summer expedition, prepare for a wild one. Last year had greats like Drexer. if you haven't studied this thread, do so. I can't remember who made the "swordteacher" website, but that is a classic, and should be examined in detail by all living beings(yes...dogs, squirrels, cats, etc.) I would have to say the Cold Steel thread was the first kill of the summer this season. I have a feeling a big catch is soon to come, so grab your best smartass, pack plenty of cynicism, and don't forget the beer.

This is my first summer expedition on KWF! Beers are in the fridge, cynicism at the ready!

I must admit, I get more fed up of the constant fascination with 'back-yard ninjers' and people trying to be funny than I do with misinformed people making misinformed comments.

This place has huge potential for getting people involved in kendo (the kind of people who come here knowing nothing more than the fact that swords are cool and want to learn to use them in the only way they've been exposed to, normally manga or popular cinema), but all people get is sarcastic comments ("I'll get the popcorn" style) and posts by people trying to find funny put-downs to gain popularity on this site with the self-appointed budo police.

(Apologies for the length of that sentence, I'm a law student...)

Hope I haven't pissed too many people off, it just seems that some people only really come here to slag people off, and it gets to me...

I'm sorry to hear about your grandparents, but that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

I know I'm not the only one who gets pissed off by all the crap around ninjer-hunting (I've got several +reps for this comment, nobody seems to want to agree here though...), it just gets boring after a while.

I'm quite happy on my high horse, keeps me away from ninjer-hunters...

Perhaps you should consider peofessional help rather than burning a hole in your soul.

I gave Andrew (kartoffelngeist) plus rep because I agree with him 100%. Didnt particularly want to comment because its been done to death.

This thread is called "kendo-world forum is getting great again!" ... perhaps the thread starter was a tad precocious?
