I've used my shinai to break up a fight between my dogs. It sounds bad, but not as bad as a chow chow vs. shiba killing each other. Funny thing is, it just made them fight harder. I had to wait for them to tire out before I pried them apart by hand.

The day after my first ever Kendo training 4 weeks ago I carried my new Shinai with me through the whole house all day long ^__^; Does that count? Or is that just really, really sad? lol

I just thought of one.
more of a bad thing I thought of rather what I actually did.
I was walking near my dojo really slowly across an exit for a petrol station and this guy honked at me and when he was on the road he and this other woman did the wanker hand gesture towards me.
I swear to god if they stopped at the traffic lights I would have smashed their car up with my shinai

Back when I was even more of an idiot than I am now, I engaged in bokken sparring without bogu with realistic cuts (not the safer small/tappy kendo attacks). In hindsight that was really unsafe, but to a young teenager that had just started learning iaido with some friends, the whole "safety" thing was a bit of a nonissue, haha.

damn I can't type.... Does taking nude photos of a cute female friend of mine count as a sin? What if she was wearing iaido gear?

She lets you photograph her in the nude and she's just a 'friend'?

Obi, sword bag, sword, and so forth. Gear was just much easier than typing out each item.

Nice.

I haven't commited this sin yet but on Christmas night I intend to go to class and put a santa hat over my men and wait for my sensei to crack me one. Yes I'm lucky enough to have Christmas kendo, one of the perks of living in Japan

You have no idea how happy I was when my sensei said we were having class on the 25th! I almost jumped up out of seisa and cheered.

But look at it this way. You get to have Christmas with your family, my wife and I won't get to see our families this year.

That's true, of course. Still, enjoy it.
