I was promised by my sempai that my kendo would improve dramatically if I tried freedom kendo.
The first class that I did so I just felt very strange. But when I tried to go back to nonfree kendo
I was horrified at how uncomfortable it was.
So even if my kendo didnt improve dramatically, my comfort while playing kendo did.

Three cheers for freedom kendo!!!

Very well put, I think i can agree that some situations require undergarments. That being said on certain occasions factors will be taken into account and the "Draws" will be worn. Not every day can be a freedom day. BUT. For the most part Its "Freedom Baby".

My only issue with going free is that sometimes standing up from sonkyo, things get wedged together down there. It's a bit distracting and requires some odd footwork to alleviate. It's not good in shinsa during the kata portion, for example.

One Good Fumikomi and any wedgieness is taken care of. As long as there is not three shinai showing during Sonkyo your OK, If you know what I mean.

Funny you should mention that...I saw a documentary a few years back regarding Priests and the whole chastity thing. (I think it was lumped into the whole sex-scandal-thing in the Catholic church) Apparently some of the priests were suffering from a condition described as "blue balls" due to...uhm...well..lack of boinking...
The doctors main recommendation to fix the problem and relieve the preassure...(literary)...was for the priests to have a good wank or getting laid...Unfortunetely the priests in this case had taken a vow of chastity so they weren't allowed to do either one of those two.
