Default Sakamoto Ryoma
Hi Guys & Gals
I am needing a little help, I am off to Kyoto in November and this time I would like to try and find Ryoma's shrine
japanese frends have said in the past that we would visit whilst sightseeing
but we have always missed it
And this time i am determined to find it as it is the first visit to Japan for my travelling companion and it would make it for him
Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated.

Just FYI there is also quite a bit of spots in Nagasaki as well. Sakamoto was gun running with Thomas Glover and was also were he took command of a Western ship that he commanded in battle if I remeber correctly. Not sure where the tea house exactly is, but supposedly there is a tea house post still standing that bears a scar in it from when Sakamoto lost his temper and drew his blade. Unfortently I ran out of time and didn`t get to see it when I was in Nagasaki.

This is the shrine website. It has a map and a little bit of information in English. I took a quick look at the Japanese page and it seems there's a small festival/religious ceremony on 15 November (from 3pm) that commemorates Ryoma's death.
