According to a message posted on the Iaido List, Haga sensei, (kendo and Iaido Hanshi 8 dan) passed away on 7th March 2010. He visited Australia many times over the years, and despite his diminutive stature, was impossible to reach in keiko. Another link with the past has been lost.

For those who did not know him in person, he is the same Haga who appeared in the 8-dan documentary "Kendo's Gruelling Challenge".

The funeral service will be held on 10th March at Heian Kaikan Fujieda (www.heiankaku.net) with the wake service on 9th March.

I had the privilege of meeting Haga-sensei, having keiko with him and having him visit our dojo. He was an amazing man who took joy in kendo, and one of my main inspirations.
