Hello everyone. I have been reading the forums for awhile and I have learned alot, thank you. I am very new to Kendo and I love it.
I told one of my friends in California that I was taking kendo and they sent me this link...http://www.completemartialart.com/kendo/ I tried to explain to my friend that the example above is not Kendo. I think it is Kumdo, but I am not sure. What do ya'll think? |

I like the "kneeling" do. It's just like in nanahon me kata.
I also like this: 10-Day Martial Art Boot Camp Online: Enter your name and email address in the form below and begin your 10 day Hwa Rang Do boot camp immediately: You can start immediately now if that isn't quick service than I don't know what is. |

I would definitely join that dojo if I lived nearby - their website says you will "Learn the best attack for every situation you may encounter." I've always felt that most dojo are lacking when it comes to teaching what to do if attacked by a panda on a unicycle while falling from an aircraft above the Swiss Alps.

I believe Orishiki Do used to be a valid waza in pre-war kendo. I'll have to try it sometime, not like ive never practice nanhonme before. |

There actually is a technical term for what they are doing: "Crap" wonder who the guy? is that's wearing those red pyjamas... and as if they're not embarrassed enough by the weird twirly dealie at 2:47 which culminates in a whack to the tare, they have to replay that a couple of times.
Then again, any school(?) that lets me master over 108 different weapons must be a force to be reckoned with.. if only on the comedy circuit. |
