Default Hiking in Japan?
I recollect reading about a multi-day hike through some mountains in Japan. Part of my brain claims it was through the Minami Alps. The thing about the hike was that it was multi-day, and you basically hiked from "hiker hostel" to "hiker hostel." Anybody know much about this?

Grasping at straws?

I seem to remember this from one of the blog posts. It has some religious meaning behind it I think. If its what Im thinking of your walk, or hike, from temple to temple. I also remember them saying it could take a while depending on how many of the temples you wanted to see. All the temples could take a couple weeks if I remember correctly.

Sounds like the Appalachian trail to me, though there if you're smart you camp somewhere other than the hostels/designated sites, unless you like rats chewing on you and bugs in your sleeping bag.

Bit vague like but it could be a hiking trail through Kirishima in Kagoshima prefecture.

If it's in Kyushu it's likely to be there or maybe Oita prefecture.

It was north of Shizuoka, maybe Yamanashi? I'll check out hiking in Kagoshima though, thanks!
