[QUOTE=Tommy_Z;425739
Outside of Hollywood, the best depictions of sword duels Ive seen are from the Japanese films;
1) When The Last Sword is Drawn
2) Love and Honor
3) The Hidden Blade
4) Twilight Samurai (who actually stars the village sword master in The Last Samurai)

...where they are definitely not `romanticized.[/QUOTE]

Some great films in there. But they are, absolutely, romanticized.

That made me cringe maybe because I've seen how Kendo really is like. That was terrible..

Wow. Just wow.

Now onto how even people in "documentaries" will mess up on the katana in general! (I'm talking about Bren Foster. Obata-sensei knows what he's doing.)

Looking back in hindsight, I'd say under-romanticized. Boxing, surfing, football... these have been over-romanticized. Kendo? There's the scene in the Transporter 2, where Kendo is anally raped. But there's been no romance.

Hathandir, A really nice film, thank you for posting it. The music was great too; heard what seemed to be a 17-string base koto (Japanese harp),
unbelievable if that's what it was. Would be interesting to know about the director and script writer.
