Well I'm sure that a lot of us would feel that way but I'm not sure the BSA would be easily convinced as long as long as people are hitting each other with bamboo swords. Kendo is innately an offensive art and not a defensive art and that is what the BSA sees, not the development of spirit. I'm not saying that the view from the BSA is correct or accurate, just that it is perceived in that way and that is (from my experiences) is why the BSA is unlikely to be real receptive to kendo. We did a kendo demonstration at a BSA camporee a year ago and we usually allow people from the audience to come up afterwards and hit a few men strikes on some of our members but we were told that we could not do that as the BSA would not allow hitting another person at the camp, even for the purposes of audience participation.
