Default Any other country have events on their nation's birthday?
Spinning off the AUSKF 2011 National Championship Proposed Date thread, how many nations actually have kendo camps or tournaments on their nation's birthday?

Just curious....

Yeah, the Australian National Iaido and Jodo Championships generally fall on Australia Day. Mind you, we are also the only country that eats our national symbols.

Moose are one of our national symbols. And they're good eating.

If unicorns actually existed, we'd probably eat those as well.

The kangaroo is good eating but the emu I find not so good - had it in spicy spring rolls once though and that wasnt bad.

Moose is better.

But having a seminar on the national day is good for commonwealths like Aus because its an (almost) shared holiday.

We don't have a national day to celebrate... Knowing our lot it would be considered 'racist' and banned anyway.

Our national kendo championships which are held this weekend are the bicentennial (independence and revolution anniversaries this year) ones, but our national day is up until september.
By the way we eat those cactuses waving on the flag right there, we call them nopales, yummy
