Default A case where football is NOT safer than a MMA discipline...
A tournament is held every year in Florence, the game is the son of a ancient roman one played by the legionaries. Today is known as "calcio in costume"...

I don't get why people think MMA is very dangerous, more people get killed and seriously injured doing other sports that few people would call dangerous.

Yeah, punching, kicking, choking and otherwise trying to beat the shit out of each other is perfectly safe.

Ancient games are great... superb to see that much neighbourhood passion, like reading in the old byzantine records of riots between the different colour factions after a contentious chariot race....

While some MA are very dangerous the arts of the ZNKR are not - leastwise that is the view of those most impartial of observers, the Australian insurance industry - if I recall correctly when I was organising insurance we were rated lower risk than soccer, netball, rugby.....

Just like shuffling around, screaming and hitting each other over the head with sticks over and over right?

:P

Same reason people are scared of roller coasters when chance of dying/getting injured during a roller coaster ride is actually lower than that of during driving.
