On Footygoss, there are suggestions that all is not well in Bombo Valley among the player group. Some Swans supporters, bless their little hearts, are making rumblings about too much cash ending up ian the hands of their army of imports and not enough in those of the locals. These imports include Hansen, Colreavy, Jacky, Roach, Williams, Riggio, Robinson, James, Geappen, Davis, Spaanderman and most recently Hams. Add locals returning from the AFL system such as Blight, Hunter, Miles and Notte and you can easily see why some of us are beginning to ask questions.

The thing about Swans is they are usually very good at producing their own. Lets face it they wouldn't have won the flag (Sudafed aside) without Krakouer, Geapen, Twomey, Robinson, Spanders etc...., all very good recruits but by the same token they won 2 colts flags only 2 or 3 years ago and maybe there is talent still there that is not getting a go? Maybe some other WAFL clubs like Perth should be circling for players of discontent looking for opportunities elsewhere?

If they were winning there wouldnt be much bitching... A few wins and the vultures will stop circling.
As for Perth swooping, they should have targeted Tony Notte seriously. Dropped from the Grand Final and well & truly out of favour, he would have been prime for picking. He is having an OK season so far & would have been very handy up forward for the Demons. Swans have been in every game this year. Just fallen flat at the last hurdle. |

Yep, reckon its getting to a few... you saw how many players jumped ship @ South at the end of '09 & into '10 & the effect it had on our club...not saying SD will finish 7th like we did last year, but i reckon it could be effecting the whole 'vibe' down at bongo valley at the minute...
you can't recruit someone like Hams for $40k per season & not expect it to have ramifications with the rest of the playing group... |
