Seriously, wearing the EF jumper is like getting a baggy blue New South Wales cap. One step away. It's amazing how some clubs seem to be fashionable and others not.

Sydney Swans gave Garry Moss a giant smack in the mouth by not selecting him in the Rookie Draft. They had 7 selections and passed on 4.

It will be interesting to see if Mossy comes back to East Perth or goes to the South Geraldton goony birds as previously mentioned.

And if he defects up north, it will also be interesting to see Throbbo's (and indeed the other goony supporters) reaction on that other wannabee Website after they blasted hell out of Josh Smith for signing with the Royals.

I reckon Moss would be a top WAFL player. Big grounds will suit him. Wouldn't mind if he came to Subi actually, although we dont really need a midfielder.

Hopefully now with the draft done, we can find a forward.

Yeah, that looks good to me. Interesting decisions to be made by the WAFL clubs....that is if it is the WAFL clubs that make the final decisions.

That was a suprise macs... I thought he had some value and Sydney would have been a good club for him. EP may wanna at least leave some room to have a crack at him before we commit to too many Peel players.

My gut feel is he could end up at another WAFL club. Not neccessarily the joondy mongo squad. But EP will have a mega serious play for his return no doubt.

Reckon he would demand a bit and with EP's recruiting thus far they may not be able to fit him in the cap.

Id rather see him go to Perth than the munchers.

Why wouldnt Perth throw the kitchen sink at him? He is a good player & if there was any opportunity for you blokles to get him, then go for it.

Reckon our recruiting is done Gas,always half hearted and never an "all out" attitude.
The only ones to come will be the "lesser" known recruits of reserves ability.

Early days i know but as we all know the longer you wait the key players either re-sign or sign elsewhere.

Was Moss not a mate of K-T's at Hawthorn ?? Perhaps Jadda may have a word with him.
Would he cost Perth 10 or 12 points and $10,000 transfer fee on top of salary ? Not sure we could afford him but we sure could use him.

Ferguson is no longer at the club,Fergusons pay packet plus points plus transfer fee = Moss!!
We won't even approach him. :

If that is the case then no wonder Perth are where they are, and for so long. It must frustrate the hell out of you blokes. Moss has been overlooked by the AFL system and there should be absolutely no reason why Perth should not have a go ?? And the demons surely couldnt have wrapped up their recruiting yet.

Dont get me wrong, Im hoping he comes back home to EP... But who knows where his head is at. If the munchers are having a crack, why isnt Perth ?

This is where the system cannot be questioned in regard to equality. Part of a football clubs metal is not just what results they get on the feild, but what they can do off it. There are no set rules clubs need to abide by in regards to recruiting. You do whatever it takes to get the absolute best possible list you can each season. Sometimes clubs do need to have a 3 year plan to get there no doubt. But passing on such players as Moss just like that, probably explains to a large degree why Perth are always battling. Perth surely must have drawn a line in the sand yonks ago. You missed Brabazon last year but at least they tried.... But it has got to be a persistant continuous drive by those at the club. Not give up after missing one particular target. Its a no brainer to me and baffling for us outsiders.

And if Perth are relying on JKT's freindship with Moss at Hawthorn to get him on board, then that is really average. It takes more than that. A package offer and a serious path that maps the players future (to a degree) whether he is at the club for 1 year or 8 years. Clubs must appear to not only get a player to sign, but show a genuine interest in improving the players outside options to the best of the clubs ability.... Some players ego's are that big these days, its the only way to play the game and get what you want. Its no different in business... It might only be the WAFL, but its still the best way to look like your club is serious and has a backbone.

The fact is Perth have been the worst at it for 30 years.... by a mile. And yes this particular subject is part heresay for the sake of summarising 3 decades of stuff-all.

Defending every process at Perth has certainly got them a long way.

After 30 years I would be cracking heads as a supporter. Dont see it as criticism, see it as trying to get some concrete results. After everything was done & dusted for 2010 Perth still finished last behind Peel. What more does it take for you lovers of all that is Perth to see a change.

And I like Perth !! Sometimes I reckon Im more passionate about wanting a change down there than some others who seem seduced by god knows what down there.... A powerful Perth league side would be a good thing for the whole competition. But where is it gonna come from is all Im saying...

Take that anyway you want.

and wearing a Claremont jumper isn't Bensti?......majority of EF draftees go on to play in the AFL for over 5 years minimum mate........Claremont seem to take the dosh and they get delisted after 1 - 2 years....EF record of producing AFL players who stay in the system for a good 5 plus years is second to none......Kerian King and Andrew Foster have been the only players of late who was in the AFL system for less than 3 years.......so perhaps EF players have been AFL fashionable for a reason Bensti......Claremont have had Bedford, Gilligan, Benjamin, Lee, Laurie and Brabazon bounce back to the WAFL within 2 -3 years of been drafted.....easy money if you ask me!

two players who I thought were draft gimmes were Chalwell and Monaco and they didn't get drafted.....two fellas weren't even mention in Johanninsen and Perham and they got drafted......

And WC's love affair with anyone who pulls on a blue and gold jumper with CFC written on it continues despite several players from that part of town proving to be one of WC's downfalls in recent years. WC are drawn to Claremont players like a moth to the flame, then they wonder why they get burnt?

Still, we get to see some our boys for a season or three at league level which is great.

Just thinking back, Matt Priddis, Mark Nicoski, Brad Smith, Simon White, Adam Cockie, Aidan Parker, Greg Broughton, Trent Dennis-Lane, all played a lot of league footy before getting noticed. A bonus for us. Same thing might happen with Luke symonds and James Lee I suspect. Then after that, the floodgates will open.
