The details of the carbon dioxide tax announced today by Prime Minister Julia Gillard amount to Australia's suicide note to the world. This insane tax on air will destroy what little is left of Australia's manufacturing industry. Jobs will go offshore, emissions will continue and probably increase in new Third World locations and Australia will sink rapidly to the status of a poverty-stricken quarry owned by foreign mining companies.
