Jan. 23 - Although he wouldn't confirm it, the Heat may be one of the 11 teams who have contacted agent Raymond Brothers about signing Qyntel Woods, who was released by the Trail Blazers on Jan. 21, according to The Miami Herald.

Once he clears waivers, the former first-round pick could be signed for the league minimum. Brothers did say Woods finds Miami "an intriguing destination."

"I've got the utmost respect for (president) Pat Riley and (GM) Randy Pfund and Stan Van Gundy, and Miami would be a great place for the kid to land," Brothers said in The Herald.

Woods averaged just under 11 minutes per outing in 62 games during the 2003-04 season. He contributed 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds during that stretch.
