So I'm run into this small mathematical anomaly. and searching on NBA.com just now Of the most truly effective 10 scorers in the category, all but one have been in the top10 in election getters at their respective postitions. Player/ PPG/ Rank in votes at position

Kobe Bryant/ 35.9 /1st
Allen Iverson /33.4/ 1st
LeBron James/ 31.0 /1st
Gilbert Arenas /28.4 /8th
Tracy McGrady /26.9 /1st
Dwyane Wade/ 26.8 /2nd
Dirk Nowitzki /26.1 /4th
Carmelo Anthony /25.8 /6th
Paul Pierce/ 25.6/ 7th
Michael Redd/ 25.1/ Doesn't register in top in votes
