Well it's been reported, and Kobe has said that he would love to have Kidd on the team. The Nets seem very serious about moving Kidd out of there, and the Lakers are the front runners at the moment.
If it becomes a three team deal, then I think this trade will go through. But honestly, it would give the Lakers that push if they get Kidd. I still wouldn't think they'll be in the elite of the west. But they'll be getting closer and closer to getting another ring. |

I'd love to see Kidd exit the Atlantic Division.
Plus I like the Lakers alot this year, probabally my favorite team in the West. The rumour right now is: Chris Mihm,Aaron Mckie and Kwame Brown for Jason Kidd. Jason Kidd is arguably the best point guard in the entire league. Even though it's 3 for one. This is a VERY good deal for the Lakers. |

I'd love to see Kidd exit the Atlantic Division. I've heard two rumors. One has the Lakers trading the three players mentioned earlier along with Jordan Farmar, as well as a future #1 and #2 draft pick for Kidd. The other is a three team deal in which the Lakers would trade Mihm, Aaron Mckie and maybe a draft pick to Portland for Jamal Magloire, then they would trade Magloire and Kwame Brown to New Jersey for Kidd. Of course another rumor, is that whomever the Nets trade Kidd to, they want to trade Jason Collins along with him. That makes the Laker deal almost impossible. Outside of Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant, the Lakers do not have a lot of large salaries to trade away, and Collins and Kidd's contracts combined comes to be about $26 million. If you subtract Odom and Bryant's salaries, the rest of the roster is making about $29 million. The Lakers would literally have to trade 3/4 of their team for a Kidd/Collins deal to work. With all that being said, I don't see the deal happening. The Nets desperatly want the hometown kid Andrew Bynum, and the Lakers aren't going to give him up. |
