Well im very shocked that Carmello Anthony was left off the west team. I guess it doesnt help when stupid fans vote for Tracy McGrady instead of him either. On the east, Michael Redd didnt make the team? That was another shocker, but not as shocking as Mello. Nice to see Caron Butler make the east...but he isnt as good as Michael Redd. Personally i would have went with Joe Johnson and Michael Redd over Vince and Hamilton. But thats just me. I guess being on a winning team helps.

News...
Mello and Josh Howard still have a shot to make the team because of Yao and Boozer injuries.

I think thats about as perfect an All Star team as you can get when they switch out Boozer and Ming for Melo and Howard. Butler is a very deserving player and im glad he made the team.

The West like always is very big! The east is quick like usual. Should be a great game, too bad Wrestling State Finals are the Friday and Saturday before, so I will have to miss the festivities.

I'm not too astonished that Melo was left off of the original roster. The guy missed a month and a half because of that hit and run in NY, and that probably cost him more than anything.

Melo being voted in had nothing to do with T-Mac. Melo is a forward and T-Mac is a guard. If you want to make the case for Carmelo starting, then you have to make a case against either Garnett or Duncan.

The ONLY reason T-Mac was voted in as a starter is because he got all of those China votes along with Yao Ming. I seriously doubt that anyone outside of Houston (and maybe a few hangers on in Orlando) voted for McGrady.

The fact that Shaquille O'Neal got a starting bid after playing in 6 games shows just how incompetent fans are, and is a great example of why a) they shouldn't be allowed to vote or b) there should be a minimum amount of games that a player must partcipate in prior to the All-Star break in order for them to qualify to play in the game. It makes absolutely no sense that a guy like Dwight Howard, who has played his ass off all season long and is TRULY the dominant center in the East, gets relegated to the bench in favor of some lazy, overrated, has-been who's been taking his annual vacation over the last 3 months.

Well he should have atleast got the mention as the starter, then dropped out. How can a 2 time MVP not be a starter the next year? Just proves how much favouritism the All Star game voting is. Atleast the panel or whatever knows how valuable Nash is.

Yea for sure, its all favouritism and popularity. Just because Nash is white and doesnt score 45 points a game, people dont like him.

John Stockton was white, and he made the All-Star team almost every year. Like I said in my earlier post, the only reason Nash didn't get the starting nod is because Tracy McGrady got the China vote along with Yao. Nash came in 3rd in Western Conference all star votes for guards (I don't count Iverson because he got most of his votes while still in the East). Only Kobe and McGrady recieved more votes than Nash. It has nothing to do with race.

Oops, my bad. Good for Joe Johnson though, he deserves it. Never should have left Phoenix though.

If I was offered that type of money, I would have left the Suns hehe.

Anyway, nice to see Joe Johnson in the line up now.

Yea for real, that was HUGE money. And the Hawks made a fairly good deal. Just wish they wouldn't have though, is what I mean.
