This year the NBA dunk contest will feature...
Nate Robinson...New York Knicks Gerald Green...Boston Celtics Tyrus Thomas...Chicago Bulls Dwight Howard...Orlando Magic Sounds pretty good, but big men dont usually do that well...so i think Gerald Green will take it. |

Iguodala was the first guy the NBA approached and he said No. He said that he felt cheated after last season's contest and wanted nothing to do with it this year.
Gerald Green will probably be the favortie. I remember when he participated in the McDonald's All-American dunk contest when he was a high school senior. He got some ooohhs and ahhhs then. I'll be interested to see what he comes up with. |

Tyrus Thomas just made himself look like a jackass.
The Chicago Bulls fined forward Tyrus Thomas $10,000 on Tuesday, one day after the rookie said he only was interested in the prize money at the NBA's slam dunk contest. Thomas was quoted in Tuesday's editions of the Chicago Tribune as saying: "I'm just going to go out there, get my check and call it a day." When asked if being around some of the game's greats could be beneficial for a rookie, he responded, "I'm just into the free money. That's it. I'll just do whatever when I get out there." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2756552 How can the NBA allow him to compete in this competition after saying this shit? He just spat in the face of all previous dunk contestants. If he is only in it for the money, then kick him out and let someone else take his spot. This is a disgrace. |

Tyrus Thomas just made himself look like a jackass. Is it the "RIGHT" thing to say? Probably not. Everyone's opinion is different, but personally I won't rip the guy for being honest. |

It doesn't offend me one bit. You think these guys particpate in these gimmick events for the fans? for the crowd? Yeah, sure they do. I can almost gurantee you that about 80% of the players that participate in the skills competition, or the 3 point shootout or the dunk contest are just in it for the money. The NBA is looking to remove Chicago Bulls rookie Tyrus Thomas from the all-star slam-dunk competition and replace him, a prominent agent has told us. Thomas was fined $10,000 by the league after telling reporters he didn't really care about going for anything but the money. Thomas said he was "going out there, get my check and call it a day." "The league is looking to replace him," the agent said. Orlando Sentinel |

yeah i would rather watch dunk/3 point contest then the actual all-star game...but thats just me. The 3 point contest can be really good because if u get a couple high scores and u have player trying to match it to advance. I love that. I think Tyrus Thomas will win. If Nate wins, it will prove its FIXED! |
