To: studcrackers, K-Dawg1
I personally dont think that jordan in the greatest of all-time, but i do think he is pretty damn close. I mean, if your going to talk about his competition, you cant just talk about those who payed in the same position, for jordan played three positions on the court, essentially, and drew all kind of defenders. If infact it is the defending aspect and/or putting up the same kind of numbers as his one on one competition in which you are speaking, then that was quite a chore for MJ. He had to face greats like Drexler, Miller like you mentioned, Mitch Ritchmond, Gary Payton(who d' him up), Penny(though for only 1 season), Glen Rice, Larry Johnson, Chris Mullin and thats only a few of them. You also have to mention the people in which he had to lead his team against; Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Kemp, Shaq, Isiah, Ewing, Wilkens, Zo, and thats not counting the youngbloodz makin an impact. The league was by no means watered down in anyway whatsover, and dont act as if The Dream wasnt there while Jordan was. I dont think it is a coencidence that knowone but Jordan won any chips while Jordan was playing in his prime To K-Dawg1 Jordan did not set the trend of the glorification of single players. There were many before him that did the same and didnt win as much... George Gervin, Nique, Dr. J, Wilt of course, and even if he did would you rather watch endlesses passes and fundamentals like a WNBA game or Spurs, or see a KG or TMac type single handedly take over when it is that time of the game and give you highlight after highlight. Be honest. |

who agrees that michael jordan is garbage and the worst ball player ever?
he is a ball hogging bum, he steals the ball from his own players. and dont mention that he was the assist of the year, that was only for 1 year all those other years he was a ball hogging idiot. i hate when people say he is the best basket ball player ever, if he was still young and playing today no 1 will remeber him cuz iverson will cross him, shaq will muff him, and lebron james, stephon marbury, jamel crawford, genobli, tracy Mcgrady, and others will bury him. he just beat players that couldnt play at all. he is the worst ever, people in the wnba have beter skills than that bum |

But, I also don't see him as the greatest player of all time. Is it because of his skill? no. It's because of HIM. I was watching the finals one day, long ago; when Jordan was still with the Bulls. I think it was the finals, it was at least in the playoffs I remember from the atmosphere about it. The clock is running down. The Bulls are down. Pippen has the ball and Jordan calls for it. Pippen has the wide open three ball shot though. Jordan is well beyond the arc himself, so it's not like he's open in the post or anything for a easy lay in. Pippen takes the shot, scores; and essentially wins the game. What does Jordan do? He fucking cries and begins practically screaming at Pippen right on the court. He always wanted the glory really, I think that sums Jordan up. Basketball is a team sport, and because of that; Jordan was never one of the greats in my own PERSONAL OPINION. |

although mj is great i don't believe he is the greatest of all time granted he did win 6 rings it was in a watered down league and in the season that posed the best threat to his team he was retired (the rockets 94-95) jordan's top 3 but it's tough to say he is clearly number 1 you could easily make the case for wilt chamberlain being number 1 magic johnson or even bill russell. i agree mastblast looks like an idiot but he might be right who knows how good he would've been today as its a completely different game but when he was playing 2 years ago he averaged 20 at the age of 40 to show you how good he could've been in his prime.

I,personally, think that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the best player in NBA history. But to say that Michael Jordan is garbage is one of the dumbest statements anyone can make. He did average over 5 assists per game for his career, which isn't bad for a shooting guard. I do balme Jordan for the whole incorporating the glorification of individual players instead of teams era in the NBA. But he is still one of the best to ever play the game.

wow! I never thought anyone would be dumb enough to make an "I dont like!" topic about the legend known as Michael Jefferey Jordan!
MJ won 6 rings with the Chicago Bulls. He is considerd by many as being the greatest sportsman on all time! He was a clutch shooter, was always up there in assists, steals, and any other statistic you can think of. You try and say that in Jordans prime he couldnt play with the stars of today? I would like to argue that statement. First i will admit in Jordans prime he did get crossed up by Allen Iverson. The late Bobby Phills(im pretty sure on the name) actually beat MJ in a game of 1-on-1. But just because a few guys got the best of MJ doesnt lower his legacy any. In MJs prime he could take any of those guys!!! He was that much better than the rest and that is why we still talk about him today! |

ok mastblast1, aka mr idontdomyresearchbeforebashingthebestplayerever. he only passed the ball one year?, he had 8 seasons where he averaged more then 5.5 assists. the assists per game average for guards this year was 2.3, thats including point guards as well so shooting guards is gunna be way lower. so yea i dont know where u were coming from there
