I actually enjoy the versatility of Tim Duncans' game. He can shoot from the outside, score on the inside or hammer home a crowd pleasing dunk. Just because he chooses not to do the latter on a consistent basis shouldn't prevent him from going to the All-Star game. You said that the All-Star game is for the fans, well, if he was so boring, and no one wants to see him play, why is he one of the leaders among FAN voting every single season? I mean I am a Laker fan and I personally find Shaq's game boring (all he really does is shoot 5-foot turnarounds and dunks). But it brought 3 titles and 4 trips to the Finals, so no matter how boring it seemed, it brought victories, which to ME at least, is all that matters when it comes for supporting a team.

Everyone has been riding Lebron James' jock (and rightfully so). But its as if Iverson has fallen off the face of the earth. His scoring is actually down from last season, but, his field goal percentage is up (not by much, but its still up), his turnovers are down, and he is averaging over 7 assists for the first time since his rookie season. His team is currently 2 games under .500, and with a favorable schedule in the month of February, Iverson may be considered an MVP candidate by the All-Star break.

Well you have to look at it from both a statistical and popularity standpoint. Quentin Richardson is having an excellent season, however, how likely is it that he will get more votes than say, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Shawn Marion and even Manu Ginobili (all guys who play guard/forward like Richardson).

But I look at a guy like Nazr Mohammed and I cannot honestly say that he's better than Zydrunas Ilgauskas. And since there can only be one back-up center, I would have to go with Z, but any other year, Mohammed would be there. But that's just my opinion.

And IMO, its not about whether a player is boring or not, its whether or not they get it done, and that's exactly what Tim Duncan does.

The guy is so protected it's rediculous, then again every star player is in the NBA. Damn referees, the Raptors have no "Huge Stars"(other than sophomore Bosh) so they hardly ever get calls, for christ sakes they had 3 inbound calls At HOME in the same game!! Who calls an inbound pass a turnover in the NBA!? I'll tell ya who a ref giving a winning team(Miami Heat) a break on the road.

That was fuckin horendous. The raps don't even get breaks on the road.

I just wish Star players wern't so damn protected. An extra 5-15 trips to the charity stride is one hell of a boost to a players game..

While I do agree that star players get preferential treatement, you have to be real. The Raptors are starting rafael Arujo at Center and he can't play defense to save his life. So its expected that the Duncan's and the Webbers of the world will have goo nights against them. And inbound pass is a turnover if you can't get it in in 5 seconds. Don't act as if the Raptors are world beaters here. I will admit that some of it is the refs, but a lot of it is the team itself, whether it be the Raptors or any other struggling team right now.

No man by inbound I mean one foot on the court and one outside, something you see about 100 times in every game.

The referees called it 3 fucking times, when the Raptors were down by like 20 points.

And hey man Araujo is not that bad, Hoffa pulls down alot of boards, and he gives hard fouls.

Most of the times I'm talking about is Bosh getting the retarded fouls, as he is T-O's best player and it usually ends up taking him out of the game early.

Bosh hardly ever gets calls in his favor. But I supose his time will come, I would expect next year things will be going in his favor like Amare Stoudamire.

I would normally put Jermaine O'Neal in as a starter in the East, but he just hasn't played enough games this season to warrant an All-Star appearance. The All-Star game, at least in my opinion, is there to reward the players who have been playing well during the season up to that point.

An average of 16 points and 8 assists per game in his 4 years as a starter in Dallas. Yeah, he sucked big time.

I believe that there can only be 11 players on the All-Star team, so a 9 man bench wouldn't be very realistic or accurate. But it is your own, personal All-Star lineup so there really are no "guidelines" when it comes to listing a team.

Well that's where I argue man, because All Star Weekend is for the fans, or at least that is how they market it. I can't see anyone actually want to see Tim Duncan play. He's so god damn boring.

I respect Ilgauskas for his contributions(specially because he's in my fantasy pool) but he's a fan favorite in cleveland. I can't see why anyone would want to vote for someone like duncan or ming who would pass up a dunk for a skyhook.

TEAR THE HOUSE DOWN!!

A sky hook doesn't do that, I hope Duncan doesn't make it.
