They were copying the stories, copying the songs, copying the styles of popular actors. copying comedy scenes etc.. Now remaking the popular films ie., copying the entire film scene by scene. When the old film is available in good condition, why do they want to remake? What happened to the remakes Mappillai, Murattukaalai etc. Naan avanillai might be a hit. Just because Billa was a hit, every body wants to remake Rajini films or whether the actors want to become next Rajini? Whether the remakes of Mappillai, Murattukaalai have not taught them any lesson? Leave the good films as it be. Don't spoil them by remaking. Siva is not a comedy actor and he cannot present the comic situation like Rajini in Thillu Mullu. Prakashraj is basically a villain actor. He cannot perform like 'Thengai' Seenivaasan as he is basically a comedian. Even though MSV joined hands with Yuvan S Raja, we cannot expect the same kind of output for this new ThilluMullu. I wish TFI to stop all these non-sense.

History is on the verge of being made. Veteran music director M.S. Viswanathan, who, 26 years ago, worked with Ilaiyaraaja to deliver the musical hit Mella Thiranthathu Kadavu, is to work with Ilaiyaraaja’s son Yuvan Shankar Raja for the first time. The veteran and the youngster are to score music for the remake of the yesteryear hit Thillu Mullu, which featured superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. Sources say that while the film’s muhurat is to take place on August 24, the shooting will commence in September. |

I haven't watched the Amol Palekar original. So i cant comment if its a scene by scene remake or improvised one. Since Thillumullu itself was a remake, what's the big deal in SS attending the audio launch/muhurat of the new one? He has already done that with Billa na?
If KB can improvise on the original, why can't Badri do the same? Who knows? 30 years from now, This new THillumullu can be an adaiyalam of TF and may feature among Mirchi Siva's top 3 films. |
