Leading producer Udhayanidhi Stalin and his director AR Murugadoss are holding a press meet on Saturday (May 15), to announce their new film which has Suriya and Sruthi Hassan in the lead, with music by Harris Jayaraj.

At the press meet, Udhayanidhi and Murugadoss will formally announce their team and probably the title of the film. It will be Sruthi’s first Tamil film after making her debut in Hindi with Luck.

The shoot of the film is likely to start in the first week of June with a song picturisation in China. It is likely to be a big budget action adventure tri lingual film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Please note Suriya is the most talked about star in Bollywood from south with a market in Telugu. Sruthi is already known to North Indian audiences and AR Murugadoss is the director of Aamir Khan’s blockbuster Ghajini.

It’s a win-win situation for Udhayanidhi and his Red Giant Movies.

After the tremendous success of GHAJINI, AR Murugadoss is all set for his latest project with one of the biggest production houses in the South starring Shruti Haasan and Suriya.

Shruti Haasan has been creating waves not only in Bollywood but also in the South. She had composed the music for UNNAIPOL ORUVAN, which garnered her lot of appreciation and is currently working on a Telegu movie.

With this new venture, this pretty damsel will be marking her debut in Tamil cinema. When we tried contacting Shruti, she wasn't available for comment.

Sources reveal that the music composer for the film is Harris Jayaraj and the cinematographer is Ravi K Chandran. Udhayanidhi Stalin will be producing this flick.

Suriya, who will soon be making his debut in Bollywood, had worked with Murugadoss on GHAJINI which was a humongous success. Many anticipate the team to deliver another smashing hit on the lines of their previous endeavor. The work on this much awaited film will start this April.

Shruthi admires Suriya

Shruthi is excited that her acting debut in Tamil will be with Suriya, in a film directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin.

“I am happy to be part of the project,” the eldest daughter of Kamal Haasan says, heaping laurels on the actor.

“I am a big fan of Suriya. He is one of the powerful actors we have today and I am thrilled to share the screen space with him. I guess we will make a great pair. I am eagerly waiting for the film to go on floors,” she says.

Denying reports that she is seeing ‘Boys’ fame Siddarth, Shruthi says, “We are good friends and he is a nice co-star. I learnt a lot from him. But there is no truth in reports that we are in love with each other.”

Saying she is planning to stay in Mumbai thanks to offers from Bollywood, the actress-musician adds, her heart however will always be in Chennai. “Because it’s my dad’s place and a city where I grew up. Chennai is where my heart is.”

What’s cooking between Suriya & Shurti Haasan?

Murugadoss has completed the script for his next film starring Suriya and Shruthi Haasan and is ready to start the first schedule.

According to sources close to Suriya, the team will fly to China for the first schedule to shoot two song sequences. One is a duet featuring the lead actors and the second song will feature Shruti matching her steps with 50 dancers.

The unit is gearing up for the trip and before they board the plane Murugadoss is expected to announce the title of the film.
