ராணா அறிவிப்பு வெளியான உடன், வழக்கம் போல படம் குறித்து பல்வேறு யூகங்கள், கணிப்புகள், எதிர்மறைச் செய்திகளை உலவவிட்டனர், உட்கார்ந்த இடத்திலிருந்தே செய்திகளை ‘உருவாக்கும்’ மீடியா ஆசாமிகள் சிலர்.

சுல்தான் படத்தில் ரஜினி தொடர்பான காட்சிகளை எடுத்து இணைக்கப் போகிறார்கள். அதைத்தான் ராணாவாக வெளியிடப்போகிறார்கள் என்று கூற ஆரம்பித்தனர்.

ஆனால், படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர்களில் ஒருவரும் ராணா தொழில்நுட்ப இயக்குநருமான சௌந்தர்யா ரஜினி, “ராணா புத்தம் புதிய ஸ்கிரிப்ட். ஹராவுக்கும் இதற்கும் சம்பந்தமில்லை” என்று சனிக்கிழமை கூறியிருந்தார்.

டைம்ஸ் ஆப் இந்தியா நாளிதழும், “ராணா வேறு படம். ராணாவுக்குப் பிறகு ஹரா வெளியாகக் கூடும்” என்றே நேற்று செய்தி வெளியிட்டிருந்தது.

ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் இந்த செய்திகளும் பேட்டிகளும் குழப்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்திவிட்டன. நம்மிடமும் பலர் இரண்டும் ஒரே படமா… வெவ்வேறு படமா? என கேட்டவண்ணம் இருந்தனர்.

இந்தக் குழப்பத்தைத் தவிர்க்க, இயக்குநர் கேஎஸ் ரவிக்குமாரிடமே கேட்டுவிட முடிவு செய்தோம். இன்று ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை அவரைத் தொடர்பு கொண்டு ராணா தொடர்பான குழப்பங்களைத் தெரிவித்தோம்.

‘காலைலருந்து இதப் பத்தி விசாரிக்கிற பத்தாவது நபர் நீங்க’, என்று சொன்னபடி ரஜினி பாணியில் ஒரு சிரிப்பை உதிர்த்த இயக்குநர், “ரசிகர்கள் தெளிவா இருக்கணும் என்பதற்காக இந்தத் தகவலைச் சொல்கிறேன்… ராணா புதிய படம். பக்கா ரஜினி சார் படம் இது. 3 வேடமும் ‘லைவ்’ ரஜினிதான். அனிமேஷன் கிடையாது”, என்றார்.

அப்படின்னா ஹராவின் இன்னொரு பகுதியை நீங்கள் இயக்குவதாக வந்த தகவல்?

அதுபற்றி நிறைய பேசியது உண்மைதான். ஆனால் இந்தக் கதை சரியா அமைஞ்சிடுச்சி. இது ஒரு பீரியட் படம்… சர்வதேசத் தரத்தில் ஒரு சரித்திரப் படம்னு சொல்லலாம். ரஜினி சாருக்கு ரொம்ப கச்சிதமா அமைஞ்ச ஸ்கிரிப்ட்.

“அனுஷ்கா மற்றும் தீபிகா படுகோனிடம் பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். முடிவானதும் சொல்கிறேன்.”

சொல்லிவிட்டு, ‘அவ்வளவுதானே… வேறொன்னும் டவுட் இல்லையே!’ என்றார் ரவிக்குமார் நம்மிடம்.

Breaking News: Rajini's next is 'Rana'

International media house Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios have joined hands to co-produce the next film of Super Star Rajinikanth to be directed by K. S. Ravikumar.

The film titled ‘RANA” is going to be another big multilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Scheduled to go on floor in March this year, Rana will be a live action magnum opus with Rajini playing triple role.

The film will have Music by A R Rahman, Cinematography is by Ratnavelu, Editing is by Antony and Art directed by Rajeevan. The technical & special effects director will be Soundarya Rajinikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios, renowned visual effects luminary and an Emmy award winner will be the visual effects supervisor on the film. The film is scheduled to release early 2012.

Speaking on the development, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, “We are extremely excited to join hands with Tamil industry’s most popular super star Rajinikanth for Rana and this time audiences will be treated with their favourite actor donning a triple role in the film. Eros International has joined hands with Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios and will now co-produce Rajnikanth's Rana (earlier titled Sultan-The Warrior).

A press release from Eros International states that Rana will have Rajinikanth in triple role , to be directed by K S. Ravikumar and music by AR Rahman.

The film will start rolling from March and will be released in 2012 in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Ratnavalu will be the cinematographer, Antony will be the editor, art direction is by Rajeevan and technical & special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios.

Just when news about Endhiran is subsiding, brand Rajini is making news again: Not for his next (animated) movie Hara but for his next project with director KS Ravikumar. The news is official now that Rajini and KS Ravikumar have agreed to work on a project together which has been titled "Rana". The USP of the movie is that Rajinikanth will be acting in three roles in the movie. The last time we saw Rajinikanth in three roles was in Moondru Mugam.

Rana will be co-produced by Eros International and Ocher studios. The multi-lingual, which will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, will have music by AR Rahman who also scored music for Rajinikanht's last movie Endhiran. Editing will be done by Anthony and Ratnavelu, of Endhiran fame, will be the cinematographer. Art direction will be taken care by Rajeevan while The technical & special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios. The shooting is expected to commence in March this year and the film is expected to be released in 2012.

The hottest bit of news making the rounds in K’town is that Sun Pictures, the big market players, have grabbed the next, highly-anticipated project of superstar Rajinikanth — Raanaa, which was earlier titled Sultan The Warrior. A dream project of Rajini’s daughter Soundarya, which started as a full-fledged animated film and was hyped as — ‘Rajinikanth, the first South Asian actor to be animated,’ underwent numerous changes recently.

Soundarya, in an earlier interview to DC, said that the film will also star the real, ‘live’ Rajinikanth. The new cinematic vehicle, it was said, would be directed by ace filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar.

Ratnavelu, the cinematographer has been roped in for the latest version. A few songs, including Rajini’s intro song, have already been composed by the Academy-award winning A.R. Rahman. Insiders said that earlier, Gemini Film Circuit showed a keen interest in producing the film, after they settle Reliance Big Pictures and Ocher Studios, who were the originally- announced producers. Now, in a new and surprising turn of events, it is learnt that Gemini has backed out of the race and Sun Pictures has stepped into the scene and would definitely strike a deal with Soundarya. Reliable sources revealed that talks are on with Rajinikanth and everything will be finalised in a week’s time.

Rana is a period film' -K S RAVIKUMAR
The superhit combination of director K S Ravikumar and actor Rajinikanth is back. This time, for a full-fledged action movie in which the Superstar will play not one, but three roles! K S Ravikumar had earlier given two hits with Rajinikanth in Muthu and Padayappa. With Rana, the two are all set to recreate that magic once again onscreen.

Talking to CT, K S Ravikumar says, "Yes, Rana will be an action entertainer and it will be a period film. Rajinikanth will sport a different look in it."

A source close to the film's unit also says, "If things go according to plan, Rana will start rolling in March. Rajini will play three different roles in it. It will be a trilingual and the film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi by next year."

According to rumours doing the rounds in the industry, Deepika Padukone is to be paired opposite the Superstar in the film. However, there has been no official confirmation as of now. While AR Rahman will compose the music for Rana, cinematography will be by Rathnavelu. Art and editing will be handled by Rajeevan and Anthony respectively. Apart from co-producing the film, Soundarya Rajinikanth will also handle the special effects in it.

Meanwhile, work is still on for Sultan The Warrior aka Hara, an animation flick that is being made by Soundarya Rajinikanth. Sources say that Rana is likely to release before Hara.

Assuming Rajini = Kamal, KSR/ARR >> SR/YSR. So, you guys are starting with an advantage. But let's see, hope is all pinned on Kamal since he is very well capable of scoring a century even with an elbow injury. :P
