Payanam an upcoming bilingual movie of Nagarjuna is made in both tamil and telugu version is produced by actor Prakash Raj under his home production to be known as "Duet Movies" alongwith co-producer Dil Raju. This movie is directed by Radha Mohan.

Being the leading roles are taken by Nagarjuna and Prakash Raj alongwith Poonam Kaur , Anushka Shetty as leading lady characters, Bharath Reddy & Bramanandam are the other actors in leading role.

Prakash Raj has opted his favorite director Radha Mohan to do the direction as he has already delivered some great hits with story and screenplay and many of his movies like Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum won accolodes for the directionship of Radhamohan as this movie is going to release on 1st January 2011.

As already mentioned that Payanam movie will be released as "Gaganam" in telugu version with the same star cast and the technical crews.

Payanam a movie with action packed thriller where hero Nagarjuna is playing as a commando is all about hijacking of Indian Airlines Plane IC 814 and audience !!!

its a movie where one can have an experience like what could be the mental status of the passengers at the hijack as the first portions completed both the producer Prakash Raj and director Radha Mohan seems to be happy with the outcome.

but he has to live up to it. pressure pressure.... Going by the trailer, it looks like he would live up to the expectation.. This movie he may be feeling the pressure since the investment is more than his previous movies..

I love to see new attempts, period. Not second hand from Hollywood, but with good performers I wouldn't mind watching, like Endhiran. But yeah, the new directors are doing okay. Golden Age? I don't know. Films are getting better, but on screen performance are not going anywhere, imbalanced in my view.

Feel-good-multiplex-pleasing comedies? Have not seen his Ponniyin Selvan.

This one looks like a thriller.

oh ok. Yeah, feel good movies is his forte - I only saw Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum.

Watching the trailer of big screen is looks like a taut thriller.

How would one explain the feeling of watching something in Tamizh film format, what one has already seen coming from Hollywood decades ago. From Connery's The Terrorists, to those Airport movies, to Executive Decision, and a few others I am not bothered to remember back to 90s, up to Jodie Fosters recent. How convenient it is for us to stitch all the plot together, mish mash of everything, because its either cheaper now to do those kinda movies or they can come up with bigger money, lump them together, and finally wait for reviewers say, "this can give Hollywood a run for the money" when actually they should say, "this should give Hollywood 25 years ago a run for its money".

Having said that, am looking forward to watching it

Exactly, that's why I played down the content part in my review. Kaaka Kaaka & Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, watched them solely for their leads performance. Nothing groundbreaking about the content.

if not for content, I would have placed endhiran as the worst of shankar's stuff.

I love to see new attempts Rakesh. at least those new to Tamil.

New directors offer lots of hope. I think TF is heading for its golden age.

I also saw a trailer yesterday, for another naadodigal-styled movie THOONGAA NAGARAM - abt 4 friends (VKK guy and the deaf guy from nadodigal) It also stars Anjali.

altho I hope it will be yet another good movie.

I dont know. performance is one thing - angaadi theru being a well rounded experience.
But there are some movies that can do well, even without marked performance, like madrasappattinam or even BEB.

Deathbells have sounded for mass movies and thats a good sign for the industry. The trend now seems to be feel-good movies.

Yeah, I am hopeful.
