I forgot TT. I think it got 52 or something. kAdhal got 50. 16V is the highest with 63. muLLum malarum got 61 and a bunch of kamal films (hey raam, mahAnadhi) got 60.

PR, Vega epdi pannirukkAnga? I heard she is good in a short role..

I was shocked to see 50 marks yesterday.

The louu-track itself is kinda mokkai. There is one long 'comic' sequence which was 'duh' but many in the theatre where in splits. In those her acting was pretty so-so. But later she had some redeeming scenes.

Overall the acting is good in the film. In fact there were some genuinely funny scenes too. The school and kids had many worth-watching scenes. The girl who plays 'manOnmani' acts quite well. Overall not bad at all.

I think the problem is they didn't know what to do with two and a half hours !! If they just had a short film the gags and story would have worked. With 2.5 hrs they had to have moralizing, parents thirundhing, BMK singing a Vikraman style song, cliched hospital scenes etc.

Not bad. The best thing about this film is the characterizations. Acting was pretty good too. And unlike suppipuram all the actors were spot on with the accent and blended smoothly into the milieu. Most of the scenes not involving the pasanga were superb. The silly romaans worked for me. The director using various ringtones to convey the emotions was very enjoyable. Vega was superb I thought but the real stand-out performance was from Vega's boyfriend meenAtchi.

* udane phone eduthA summA irukkOm-nu nenaichirraainga

*paavaNda avan.. evlo kastappaduraan theriyumaa..ambuttu vELayium avan dhaan seyya vENdi irukku.. yaaraa? ennaya thaaNdA sOlrEn!

*nalla vELai serial mudinchiruchu (after all the melodrama gets over at one point)

The pasanga were OK. Anbu was the best of them all. Jeeva was sort of irritating especially the voice. In fact Jeeva's mom at one point yells - summA keechu keechu-nu kathaadhadaa. His sidekicks were good. Manonmani's plastic smile was another irritant. The director could have done away with the clap theory flashback. I mean it was pretty obvious and at least two scenes prior to that explain the theory. The last 45 mins or so was unbearable. Reminiscent of Vikraman/V Sekar films.

that’s just the feel, thankfully, and not the content, which is blessedly homegrown, and which appears to have been cultivated under the shadow of Ilayaraja. When I watched the numerous references to the maestro’s music in Subramaniyapuram, I figured it was because the film was set in the eighties. But what, then, explains the O papa laali ringtone in Pasanga, or the prelude of Paadavandhadhor gaanam being employed to underscore a romantic moment? In a similarly reverential vein, the equally contemporary Kungumapoovum Konjumpuraavum features, in quick succession, Vandhanam vandhanam, Paattaale buthi sonnaar, Velakku vacha nerathile, Solam vedhakkayile, Aaha vandhiruchu and Ore naal unai naan.

நாம அடிக்கடி இங்க சொல்லுறத ஒரு பெரிய விமர்சகரும் சொல்லுறார் B.Rangan is a hardcore Raaja fan, if u didnt know already.......

Fortunately, i resisted the urge to stop watching the torture of the initial half an hour plus or so. Overall, not bad, some very good scenes and good acting

Liked very much the way the husband-wife characters and their conflict was written

Apart from the beginning, ellarum sonna madhiri climoks
