[/html:d434efe4c0] Ananda Thandavam (also referred to as Aananda Thaandavam), which stars Tamannaah and newcomer Siddharth, is an adaptation of the famous novel, Pirivom Santhippom by Sujatha. The book became an instant hit when it was released 20 years ago and still has quite a lot of fans. Director Gandhi Krishna, an avid fan of this book and every work of Sujatha, decided to turn it into a film. After acquiring permission from Sujatha, he turned it into a beautiful screenplay 7 years ago. Aascar Films, who are dedicated to give quality entertainment, agreed to produce the film, and understanding its nature and potential, even allocated a big budget. The film is about a young girl whose profession in the field of virtual reality and special effects field takes her to USA. After spending quite some time in USA, she realizes that her life has been rendered too monotonous by the mechanized American lifestyle. That is when she longs to return to India. Most of the film has been shot in USA and both Tamannaah and Siddharth have given beautiful performances. Tamannaah looks real gorgeous in this film. The film’s support cast includes Rukmini, Kitty, Rishi Madanbob, Bala Singh and “Special Effects” Venky. Gandhi Krishna’s screenplay and direction coupled with some fabulous music from G.V. Prakash have turned this film into a beautiful entertainer. It would sure prove nostalgic and would touch everyone’s heart, those engaged in a highly-mechanized lifestyle and missing the subtleties of life will find it most appealing. Expected to hit the screens in december.. [html:d434efe4c0] [/html:d434efe4c0] The book begins with a French poetry.... "I love you some times foolishly and at thosemoments I do not understand that I could not ,would not and should not be so absorbing a thought for you as you are for me " Related links: http://www.hindu.com/cp/2008/02/15/s...1550411600.htm http://tamil.galatta.com/entertainme...Thandavam.html http://woohhaa.blogspot.com/2008/01/...l-pirivom.html |

We followed Sujatha -word by word"
October 22, 2008 The audio releases of Anandha Thandavam, the film based on eminent Tamil writer Sujatha's Pirivom Sandippom was held at the coffee shop of Ashwitha art gallery, Chennai. This film is directed by Gandhi Krishna of Chellame fame who was earlier assistant to director Shankar. Anandha Thandavam has debutant Siddharth and Tamanna in the lead roles. While talking at the occasion, Gandhi Krishna said that when making a film from a novel, it is natural for the film maker to alter the original novel to suit the visual medium. However he has not done that and has followed Sujatha's writing word by word. In case he mentioned that someone was walking in Switzerland, the scene was shot in Switzerland only. He further added, "Anandha Thandavam is a verbatim recording of the novel Pirivom Sandippom and Sujatha's fans would vouch for the same when they watch the movie." When G. V. Prakash, the music director of the film spoke, he said, "I have done varied subjects from serious themes like Veyil to light commercial films. But this is the first time that I did an out and out a youth subject which is full of love. The songs have come out very well and I am sure about its response with the audience." The function was attended by Siddharth, Tamanna, villain actor Rishi and film's co-producer Aascar Suresh along with other celebrities. |

Interestingly, I don't remember 'swiss' part of the story, as the director claims in the above report |

Raghupathi-Madhumitha are the character names?? Director Gandhi Krishna was all praise about late writer Sujatha’s story which inspired him to make this film and producer Aascar Films who had tremendous faith in him. He said: “In fact, I consider Aantha Thandavam as my first film and it is a dedication to Sujatha. I have not changed anything in his story including the names of characters and locations where the story happens from Papanasam to New York. |

One of the problems that Sujatha stories face when made as movies is the "images that people have in their minds of the characters" - especially with those beautiful pictures by "ஜெ..." week after week.
Well, I had some time today and found a link which has the whole part II (some scribd link on the web), read it completely in a couple of hours - 100% U.S. and no swiss there. |
