What about directors who wrote their stuff?

Some of Visu's writing in the early days were pretty good. Or TR before he suddenly woke up and thought the world revolved around him (pre Tangggaikkor Geetham)? many have seen sridhars movies...so no problem.

Mahendran is originally a writer turned director

For Barathiraja - he himself does the screenplay (i.e. script) but won't write the dialogues but extracts the best dialogue from the dialogue writer like he gets the best music from IR

Can u remember a scene in dhavani kanavugal where BR expecting a good dialogue from his writer for a critical scene.... i hope same thing happens in reality

later movies by SelvaRaj Manivannan may have a few hand in some of BR's early stuff. I am sure he wrote Nizhalgal.

Plus he is good when on his own. Some of the early works are compelling.
