did u guys read Kamal's interview in economic times? HE has pointed them out very clearly!! Excerpts You can’t keep blaming the audience and say they like it. If you give people a chequered shirt, they will wear it. Who decides the fashion. Definitely not the people. Business ethics should ensure that you don’t sell something that will kill people You mean we have to segregate content? My friend Goldie Anand, lost his job for saying this. That was a political statement. I will say it, as I have nothing to loose. You must allow X-rated films and separate them from family entertainment. Currently, we are mixing it all. Mainstream cinema is being corrupted by this content. Censor board is a body appointed by us and we cannot let them behave like monitoring royalty. The industry must have a say in this issue. Instead of throwing a little bit of the sex into, say almost all, Tamil songs which have lyrics about licking, sucking, tasting and biting, (I'm just translating what’s publicly aired on FM channels all the while) separate the X rated stuff. All of this is frustration which needs an outlet. |

I have a problem here. what KH says is : IF we allow the x-rated films, then the general expectations of the same from the audience in tamil films will get reduced.
I really don't get the logic here. Already, the young generation is illegally watching all these stuffs. There are plenty of such VCDs / DVDs circulating in TN which can be watched by all. Even after this, they are coming to the theatre expecting such a content ! IF they allow such films, won't the audience's expectation increase ? I really don't get what KH mean by that ! |

U are right, selva. The audience is also to be blamed. Even kamal's film vasool raja had a dance number by rahasya. What was the need for it?
If the audience really feels that the producers are turning out trash, then let them stop seeing such films. By this indifference, producers will automatically start producing good, clean films. We can have 2 opinions on the functioning of the censor board but kamal's views are ludicrous to say the least. |
