Vanya Mishra, Miss India 2012 lost the Miss World 2012 crown at Ordos, China. She however won the 'Miss World Beauty with a Purpose' and 'Miss Multimedia' subtitles and was in the top 7 finalists. He charity work at 'Muktangan' gave her extra points and she finished 1st in the top 15 semi finalist. She performed a mujra-style dance on the song Dil cheez kya hai in the talent round.

On the 30 second pressure question 'Why should you wear the crown?' Vanya said "I believe that the next Miss World should be a woman with a kind heart and humility, who wherever she goes, makes people feel that she is their own. Somebody who carries simple values in this complex world, somebody who believes in herself. And this is what I believe I am."

Miss China 2012 Wen Xia Yu was crowned Miss World 2012. Wales and Australia bagged the second and the third place respoctively. Indonesia will host Miss World 2013.
