Every movie or serial now has children acting and is a form of child labour. Parents use their children as ATM machine. Children should be ideally studying, instead they are asked to act in front of huge camera lights. Irrespective it is harsh sun or rains, they are being asked to act in the open and repeat dialogues. The children are making rounds for months for a role in film or serial. Rules are in place for birds and animals being used in such roles. A doctor has to certify the animal and there are other permissions. There are no such laws for children. Why is the government and Child welfare departments silent?

Manmohan Gupta of Malad based Gandhi Vichar manch says "we have been seeing that most child artist have not become big star. Being less educated, they are unable to find worthwhile jobs. Government should stop these practices."
