Default What to expect at a meditation group?
So there's a local Theravada practice group near me (http://www.theravadapgco.org/) that has a Wednesday evening service, with meditation practice and such. I want to go, but I'm intimidated... I have no idea what to expect or how to react to things, or anything. Has anyone been to a group like this? Is it interesting? What if I can't pronounce the words they chant and stuff? Advice appreciated!

Hi shadowspeak, don't worry too much about it because I'm sure others will show you what to do if necessary.

Just be open and friendly. People don't expect newcomers to be able to chant perfectly when they start going to a group. You learn things like that gradually as you go along.

I hope you enjoy the experience.

with kind wishes,

A-D
