Default stealing another's breath/energy
I am writing to you to see if you can shed some light on something that confounds my rational mind.

It is to do with taking energy from other people. It happens to me several times a week. It involves a feeling of an energy vacuum or hole appearing in my chest, and a corresponding gain of energy from the nearest person. This usually results in them taking a sudden intake of breath, or suddenly coughing. It starts as an unconscious process (I can never initiate it myself), where the energy vacuum appears in my chest, but continues as a conscious process, where I choose to continue with this 'grab' of energy.

So, in effect, I can cause people to lose their breath, and breath in suddenly, or suddenly cough, all because of this channel that occurs.

I have tried searching Google for any clues to see what this, and have only found a website about energy vampires. That website wasn't accurately describing what happens for me.

This phenomenon can't be interpreted through physics or science, which is why I am writing to you, to see if you can explain what is happening, why it is happening, and to point me in the right direction to learn more about things which can't be described by the rational mind and science.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi SRD,

Can I ask you what this has to do with Buddhism? Are you a Buddhist ?

I noticed you wrote the same post on other websites.

Kind regards,

Maybe not as much as I anticipated, but I thought Buddhism conceived the universe and all of life as connected. I was also told that the Dalai Lama had the greatest non-rational understanding of the universe, and that other proponents of Buddhism may have also.

I believe Buddhism believes in reincarnation, which is not something that can be explained by a scientific model, or a western rational mind, so that Buddhism may be open-minded enough to consider what exactly is happening in the experience I describe.

Hi SRD,

Is it possible that you're taking drugs or maybe reacting to prescribed medication ?

How do you know that you're taking energy from other people and why would you want to do that ? Have you asked them if they feel an energy loss ? If they don't, perhaps its imaginary.

You might consider turning it into something positive and think that you're sending loving kindness (metta) to them, instead of the sucking out of their energy.

I'm wondering if otherwise perhaps it might be beneficial to seek some offline professional advice if you say that it appears to be happening frequently.

With many kind wishes to you,

Aloka-D

This sounds like a fairly ordinary energy phenomenon that has to do with what is called "the energy body". It's not about drugs or mental illness, or anything like that. (How sad that the scientific worldview in the West relegates people to the psychiatrist's couch for such things.) The challenge is finding someone qualified to work with it, while avoiding falling into the hands of a charlatan. Where do you live, if I may ask, SRD?

Delusions and hallucinations can possibly be a sign of schizophrenia, a recognised medical condition, and we have a clause about mental health problems in the Code of Conduct (which I hope you've read) Mystic1.

I read on one of the other websites where this post appeared a couple of weeks or so ago that SRD was receiving help from another poster and that the problem had been resolved.

Topic closed now.

Many thanks
